Oak Foods — Case Study by Bankole David
Full Stack
Oak Foods
An interactive website for a fictional food company showcasing products and services with smooth animations.

role — full-stack developer
stack — ReactJS · Tailwind CSS · NodeJS
the problem
The client needed a digital presence that matched their premium food brand something beyond a basic menu website. They wanted to convey quality, craft, and the experience of eating their food through the website itself.
what i built
Built a highly interactive, visually rich website with smooth scroll-triggered animations, a dynamic menu system, and an immersive hero section that immediately communicates premium quality.
- Immersive hero section with parallax scrolling effect
- Dynamic menu with category filtering and search
- Smooth page transitions and scroll-triggered animations
- Contact form with server-side email integration
- Fully responsive across all device sizes
- Optimized image loading with lazy loading
tools, and why
React for component reusability across menu items and cards. Tailwind for rapid prototyping of the brand's custom color system. Node.js backend to handle the contact form and menu data API.
the hard part
Balancing the heavy animations with performance on lower-end devices. Solved by using CSS transforms instead of layout-triggering properties, lazy-loading off-screen images, and reducing animation complexity on mobile viewports.
outcome
A high-end brand website that effectively communicates the premium food experience. The client reported increased engagement metrics and positive feedback on the immersive visual experience.
